Cool STEM Resources for CS Ed Week

Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take an interest in computer science (CS). Did you know that CSEdWeek is held in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906)? This year CSEdWeek takes place December 9 - 15, 2019.

Couragion’s Tech Careers Brain Break

Couragion’s research has shown that exposure to tech careers increases students’ intention to pursue CS fields. To celebrate CSEdWeek, Couragion has created a free resource for you to boost your students’ tech career literacy. Your students can engage with three interactive quizzes - Software Product Manager, Systems Administrator, and User Experience (UX) Technologist. Each helps students learn more about the real tech jobs available and understand if they might be interested in pursuing those pathways. Anyone can teach the Tech Careers Brain Break - no CS experience is required!

Each quiz takes three to five minutes. Optional discussion and movement activities take an additional five to ten minutes. Quizzes may be implemented one at a time or all at once. Implementation options, discussion prompts, and movement activities are detailed in a lesson plan. Access the free Tech Careers Brain Break today! Questions? Email us at info@couragion.com for help!
